Cody Walker to Attend Sydney Screenings of Fast & Furious 8

His older brother was a Hollywood heartthrob tragically killed in a car crash in November 2013.

But Cody Walker is helping to keep his brother’s legacy alive.

The 28-year-old is set to touch down in Sydney this week to raise funds for Reach Out World Wide, a charity that Paul founded before his death.

Cody’s arrival in Australia coincides with the premiere of Fast & Furious 8 – the franchise in which Paul starred and for which he is best remembered.

According to The Daily Telegraph on Monday, Cody is set to attend screenings of the film in the Sydney suburbs of Warriewood and Narellan in order to raise ‘awareness and money’ for Paul’s charity.

Reach Out World Wide is a charity designed to help accelerate relief efforts after the occurrence of natural disasters.

‘The whole idea behind Reach Out and why Paul created it was because natural disasters are occurring around us all the time,’ Cody is quoted as saying in The Telegraph.

It is not the first time Cody has been Down Under. He was in the country for the premiere of Furious 7 in 2015, the last film in which Paul starred.

After his sudden death, look-a-like Cody and another of Paul’s brothers, Caleb, stepped in to film action scenes for Paul.

Caleb previously told Entertainment Tonight that he has spoken with franchise co-star Vin Diesel about if and when they may be able to bring Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, back for a cameo.

Cody is also an actor, but it is unknown whether he may fill the shoes of Paul should the character make a comeback in a future installment.

With over 1 million Instagram followers, Cody frequently shares old photos that show the close bond he shared with his brother, while many fans comment on the their likeness.

How ‘The Fate of the Furious’ Cast Paid Tribute to Paul Walker in the 8th Installment

The cast of The Fate of the Furious is remembering their late cast member, Paul Walker, during the press tour for the upcoming film.

Walker died in a car accident in November 2013 after the completion of Furious 7. The film ended with a loving send-off for both Walker and his character, Brian O’Conner, who went his separate way from the heist crew. For the cast of the Fast and Furious franchise, Walker is gone but not forgotten, and the newest film is a tribute “from him.”

At the premiere of The Fate of the Furious on Saturday, Vin Diesel, Ludacris and the rest of the original cast remembered the actor. The co-stars revealed what it was like not having him around for the most recent installment and shared why this new film is from him to the fans.

“The last movie was for Paul, we love to say this movie is from Paul,” Ludacris revealed to Entertainment Tonight. “So, I mean his presence is always going to be felt and at this point we’re working hard and trying to make the best movie possible for him to continue on his legacy.”

Diesel was more emotional when discussing filming the movie without his friend and co-star.

“A lot of people go, ‘What’s it like making a movie without Pablo’ and that’s not the right question. The real question, he said, is “What’s it like living without your brother?” he said. Diesel named his daughter Pauline in honor of his friend.

In March, the actor shared a throwback photo on Instagram of him and Walker embracing in a hug. He captioned the photo “Always…”

For Michelle Rodriguez, the latest film was a way to reinvent the franchise. There was no way to ignore the obvious loss of their co-star and that’s why this film is darker. “We didn’t want to jump in and pretend that everything’s OK after such a big loss,” she said. “You kind of have to reinvent the thing and go dark before coming out of it.”

It is hard to ignore the character’s absence, so the eighth entry in the franchise does give a few nods to Brian that help the story progress from the last film and his character’s decision to part ways.

‘Fate of the Furious’ Cast Missing Paul Walker

The death of Paul Walker is still being felt by his “Fast and Furious” franchise costars.

The latest installment, “The Fate of the Furious,” debuts in theaters Friday without its star.

Walker died in a car crash in 2013 just as he was completing filming of “Furious 7.”

The crash, which was not connected to filming of the movie, also claimed the life of his racing team partner, Roger Rodas.

Vin Diesel told “Entertainment Tonight” on the red carpet for the film’s premiere that it’s been difficult since losing his best friend, whom he nicknamed “Pablo.”
“A lot of people go, ‘What’s it like making a movie without Pablo’ and that’s not the right question,” Diesel said. The real question, he said, is “What’s it like living without your brother?”

Diesel named his daughter Pauline, now two years old, in honor of Walker.

Costar Michelle Rodriguez said the death of Walker and his absence is the reason why the eighth film in the franchise is darker than the rest.

“We didn’t want to jump in and pretend that everything’s OK after such a big loss,” she said. “You kind of have to reinvent the thing and go dark before coming out of it.”
Ludacris said the cast wants to honor Walker, who was more than just their costar.

“The last movie was for Paul, we love to say this movie is from Paul,” Ludacris said. “So, I mean his presence is always going to be felt and at this point we’re working hard and trying to make the best movie possible for him to continue on his legacy.”

Lucas Black to replace Paul Walker?

“The Fate of the Furious” trailer has released recently, giving birth to a lot of theories about the storyline. One among them is about Lucas Black’s role, which says that he will replace Paul Walker in the eighth instalment of the franchise.

For long, speculations were doing the rounds that some characters from previous “Fast and Furious” movies will return in the next instalment of the franchise. It seems that the rumours were all true as the released trailer of “The Fate of the Furious” shows a brief glimpse of Lucas Black, who played Sean Boswell in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.”

Certainly, no one can ever replace Paul Walker. However, it is suspected that Lucas Black’s role has been incorporated in “The Fate of the Furious” in order to compensate for Paul Walker’s role. It remains uncertain as to what character he will play in the forthcoming chapter but it is said that the Tokyo street racer will take over O’Conner’s place as Toretto’s new buddy.

Even the trailer of “The Fate of the Furious” shows that Sean Bosewell will join the team in order to “save” Dom. To elaborate, the trailer revealed that Dom betrayed his family by setting up Luke Hobbs to take the fall for their latest job. Furthermore, he is seen aligning himself with villainous Cipher. Thereafter, Dom’s team reunites in order to save their former leader. Lucas Black’s Sean Boswell will also join them.

Sean Bosewell in Tokyo Drift essayed the role of a bad-boy outlaw hailing from Texas. He was sent to Tokyo in order to clean up his act. Furthermore, he played a small role, rather a cameo, in Furious 7.

Since grapevine is abuzz with rumours that Lucas Black has signed for Fast 9 and Fast 10 as well, it is expected that his role in “The Fate of the Furious” will be a prominent one. If his role will be as pivotal as of Paul Walker’s only time will tell. Meanwhile, “The Fate of the Furious” is slated to hit the screens in Australia on April 12, 2017.
