Fast & Furious 9: Paul’s Movie Son Returns in New Set Video

The latest Fast & Furious 9 set video reveals the return of Brian O’Conner’s (Paul Walker) son. The ninth instalment (as implied by the title) from the primary saga of the car-centric franchise is officially in production. And because of this, few clips have emerged giving fans a look at the cast back reprising their respective roles. The most recent of which features Brian and Mia’s (Jordana Brewster) son.

It was Nathalie Emmanuel (hacktivist Ramsey introduced in Furious 7), who was the first person from the cast to reveal that shooting has begun for the Justin Lin-directed project. Her social media post was followed by a video from franchise star, Vin Diesel, alongside Michelle Rodriguez, came out, celebrating wrapping up their first day back on the set as Dominic Toretto and Letty Ortiz. Emmanuel’s original upload implied that Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as Tej Parker and Brewster are also involved, but there have been no trace of them on location. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Luke Hobbs, however, won’t be in the upcoming blockbuster as he’s off to star opposite Jason Statham in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw – the first spinoff from the film series. Now, thanks to a new social media post, fans can see Brewster return as Mia, alongside her movie son she shares with Walker.

Shared by Diesel on his official Instagram account is a clip from their fourth day on the set of in London. With the actor is his on-screen sister, Brewster and child actor Isaac, who plays “baby Brian.” Watch the video below:

After Walker’s tragic demise, James Wan’s Furious 7 was retooled to write off his character. But instead of a demise on-screen, the franchise opted to got on a less sad route, revealing that Brian decided to tap out of their operations to live a quiet life with Mia and raise their son. That also meant that Brewster’s time in the franchise was done even though she’s still around to play her role. And as the film series continues, fans assumed that it was only a matter of time before she gets back into the thick of things which is seemingly what’s going to happen in Fast & Furious 9.

While seeing Mia and her son return for Fast & Furious 9 is a welcome development for the franchise, this begs a couple of questions regarding the manner of their appearance, as well as the current status of Brian. It’s surely odd to see the both of them be involved in the upcoming narrative but not Walker’s character. Since the story of the film is still tightly under wraps it’s difficult to predict what’s going on with the O’Connners, but there’s a possibility that at the crux of the narrative is Brian’s whereabouts. Regardless of what it is, one thing is for sure, the project needs to justify Mia and baby Brian’s return, but not their family’s patriarch.

Lucas Black to replace Paul Walker?

“The Fate of the Furious” trailer has released recently, giving birth to a lot of theories about the storyline. One among them is about Lucas Black’s role, which says that he will replace Paul Walker in the eighth instalment of the franchise.

For long, speculations were doing the rounds that some characters from previous “Fast and Furious” movies will return in the next instalment of the franchise. It seems that the rumours were all true as the released trailer of “The Fate of the Furious” shows a brief glimpse of Lucas Black, who played Sean Boswell in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.”

Certainly, no one can ever replace Paul Walker. However, it is suspected that Lucas Black’s role has been incorporated in “The Fate of the Furious” in order to compensate for Paul Walker’s role. It remains uncertain as to what character he will play in the forthcoming chapter but it is said that the Tokyo street racer will take over O’Conner’s place as Toretto’s new buddy.

Even the trailer of “The Fate of the Furious” shows that Sean Bosewell will join the team in order to “save” Dom. To elaborate, the trailer revealed that Dom betrayed his family by setting up Luke Hobbs to take the fall for their latest job. Furthermore, he is seen aligning himself with villainous Cipher. Thereafter, Dom’s team reunites in order to save their former leader. Lucas Black’s Sean Boswell will also join them.

Sean Bosewell in Tokyo Drift essayed the role of a bad-boy outlaw hailing from Texas. He was sent to Tokyo in order to clean up his act. Furthermore, he played a small role, rather a cameo, in Furious 7.

Since grapevine is abuzz with rumours that Lucas Black has signed for Fast 9 and Fast 10 as well, it is expected that his role in “The Fate of the Furious” will be a prominent one. If his role will be as pivotal as of Paul Walker’s only time will tell. Meanwhile, “The Fate of the Furious” is slated to hit the screens in Australia on April 12, 2017.

Paul Walker Costars Pay Tribute on Third Anniversary of His Death

“This week is always rough for those of us who really knew him personally.”

Paul Walker’s costars are paying tribute to the late actor on the anniversary of his untimely death. Three years ago on Nov. 30, the Fast and Furious star passed away at age 40.

Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Vin Diesel all took to social media to remember Walker, who died in a fatal car crash in 2013.

“I miss you and I love you every single day,” tweeted Brewster along with a photo of the pair Wednesday. Ludacris shared a photo of the actor in character as Brian O’Conner with the words, “Always in our hearts.” His caption read: “Gone but never forgotten. #love.”

Vin Diesel updated his Facebook cover photo with bookend images of himself and Walker.

On Tuesday, Gibson shared a video of himself and his “favorite white man” along with a montage of photos and clips of Walker.

“This week is always rough for those of us who really knew him personally,” Gibson began in a lengthy and heartfelt post on his Instagram. “Paul treated everyone with the upmost respect and went out of his way to make everyone feel like they mattered…. I love and I miss you dearly.”

The next and eighth installment in the franchise, Fast and Furious 8, features newcomers Scott Eastwood and Charlize Theron, alongside original castmembers Diesel, Gibson, Ludacris, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez. The film hits theaters in 2017.

‘Fast & Furious 8’: Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel talk Paul Walker, ‘Furious 8’ plot

The upcoming installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise will begin filming next summer, and the movie will be a tribute to the late Paul Walker, who was part of the first seven movies.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty Ortiz in the blockbuster franchise, recently spoke about the upcoming instalment at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon Party in New York City, saying the eighth movie is a tribute to Walker.

Walker passed away in November 2013 in a car accident, and “Furious 7” featured a touching send-off to the late actor at the end of the movie. Although Walker won’t be a part of “Fast & Furious 8”, there are chances that he will still be mentioned in the movie.

Rodriguez revealed that the eighth film will primarily be about street racing as Walker had expressed a desire for the film to remain true to its core theme — racing.

“[Paul] wanted to bring it back down to the core, which is the racing,” Rodriguez told People. “He was always complaining about the special effects and the blue screens.”

She also added that Walker wasn’t a fan of “exaggerated explosions and crazy plot lines,” and the production house will try to stay “true to Paul’s wishes.”

Although the film is currently in pre-production, actor Vin Diesel also spoke about the movie during the MTV Movie Awards in April, saying Walker always knew there would be a “Fast & Furious 8.”

Nicknaming the movie as “F8” aka “fate”, Diesel said: “Paul used to say that 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass. So, if fate has it — fate, F8 — then you’ll get it. Furious 7 was for Paul; 8 is from Paul.”

On 12 September, Diesel paid a tribute to Walker on his birth anniversary, calling him one of the greatest human beings he has known.

“Happy Birthday to one of the greatest human beings I have ever known… one that I have been lucky to call a brother…Happy Birthday Paul… we miss you,” Diesel wrote.

“Fast and Furious 8” is set for an April 2017 release, and it will feature Dwyane Johnson, Jason Statham besides Rodriguez and Diesel. The rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed.

Rumours are rife that Eva Mendes will reprise her role as agent Monica Fuentes in “Fast and Furious 8”. Monica was a lead character in “2 Fast 2 Furious,” and according to rumours she will team up with Johnson’s Hobbs to take on a new villain in New York.
